The JDBC driver is a file with the extension .jar (some drivers need more than one file). See the end of this section for a list of download locations. Once you have downloaded the driver you can store the driver's .jar file anywhere you like.

SQL Workbench/J comes with some sample URLs pre-configured. Some of these sample URLs use brackets to indicate a parameters that need to be replaced with the actual value for your connection: (servername) In this case the entire sequence including the brackets need to be replaced with the actual value.

Installing and setting up the database server1. Download and install the evaluation software onto your server. You can use the links below to download the software:Click here to download the EasyCert evaluationor click here to download the EasyPAT evaluationor click here to download the EasyGas evaluation2. Once the evaluation software is installed on your server, click Start > EasyCert > Database Server.3. If you are running it for the first time, you will be prompted to install the Firebird SQL Server as displayed below, click Yes to start the installation.

4. Once the installation setup wizard completes, the Firebird SQL Server software will now be installed on your computer. Now click Start > All Programs > EasyCert > Tools > Database Server. The Database Server settings window will then be displayed. The Status window will display the current status of the Firebird SQL Server and the server IP Address. If everything is listed as OK then the server is correctly configured and running.

The server runs on port 3050 so the Windows Firewall must be configured to allow incoming connections through this port. If you have other third party Firewall software installed this must also be configured to allow port 3050 to receive incoming connections. The Database Server is now successfully installed and configured, you can now click OK to close the Settings window.

Note: Azure SQL Database uses the Microsoft SQL Server driver. If that driver isn't already installed on your server, follow the instructions in Install the Microsoft ODBC driver for SQL Server to install the appropriate driver for your Linux distribution and version.

If you can't connect to PostgreSQL, install the iODBC Driver Manager and then try connecting again. You can get the latest version (mxkozzz.dmg) from the iODBC.org website or download the file directly.

Denodo uses the PostgreSQL driver. If you don't have the PostgreSQL driver installed, follow these instructions to download and install the Linux 64-bit driver for Tableau Server. The PostgreSQL driver version you download is version 9.6.5, which currently doesn't work with Denodo. See the note below for alternatives.
